Northern Illinois Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery
Dr. Steimle was born in Aurora, Illinois, and is a graduate of West Aurora High School. She then attended Northwestern University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1982. She went to the University of Michigan Medical School, graduating cum laude in 1986. She completed residencies in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery and a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care and ECMO, all at the University of Michigan Hospitals. She joined Northern Illinois Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery in 1995. She is the former Chief of Surgery at Sherman Hospital and is currently a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.

Dr. Steimle is Board Certified in Surgery, (Cardio) thoracic Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. In addition to Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, she has particular interest in stentless aortic valves, mitral valve repair, thoracoscopic surgery and surgery of the esophagus.
