Dr. James joined Northern Illinois Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery in July 1999. He is a graduate of Stanford University (BA 1983) and of Yale University School of Medicine (MD 1988). After completing a residency in General Surgery and fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, he came to Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago where he performed residencies in both Vascular Surgery and Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. James is Board Certified in Surgery and (Cardio) Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery. His interests include Mitral Valve Repair with minimally invasive repair approaches, valve replacement and surgical procedures for congestive heart failure.
